The Queensland Renewable Energy Council (QREC) is pleased to confirm Board leadership to guide its next stage of growth, member value, and contribution to Queensland’s growth and regional prosperity.
QREC is the only renewables industry association dedicated to Queensland, supporting over 70 members developing, investing, owning, operating, supplying and using electricity in Queensland.
QREC Chief Executive Officer and Board member Katie-Anne Mulder said inaugural Board Chair Matthew Stuchbery, a Director at global renewables investor Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, had been re-elected to lead the Board. Nathan Blundell, Chief Development Officer for Windlab, will serve as Deputy Chair.
“What stands QREC apart as an industry advocate is that our values are Queensland’s values. A successful renewable industry will complement and expand Queensland’s regional economies, and strengthen our agricultural and resource centres – our advocacy and policy settings need to be aligned for timely investment,” Mr Stuchbery said.
VECCO Group Managing Director Tom Northcott, CopperString 2.0 Co-founder and VisIR Managing Director Joseph O’Brien, Cubico Head of Country (Australia) David Smith, and WestWind Energy – Australia Chief Development Officer Marla Brauer will continue to serve the Board.
Mr Stuchbery paid tribute to outgoing Board members, including Powerlink Queensland Executive General Manager – Major Projects, Ian Lowry and former CleanCo Queensland General Manager – Strategy and Development, Julie Whitcombe for their valuable contribution to QREC and the industry’s partnership approach to improve the reliability, affordability and sustainability of Queensland’s electricity sector.
Ms Mulder said QREC continues to draw on leadership and expertise from across the renewable energy supply chain, with projects across the State.
