Queensland Energy Investment Report 2026
Developed by the Queensland Renewable Energy Council (QREC) and Leeuwin Otway, the Queensland Energy Investment Report (Q2 Highlights) provides a snapshot of Queensland’s energy investment pipeline and the key factors influencing project development, investment productivity and project delivery across the state. Drawing on analysis of energy investment activity over the past decade, the report examines investment trends, project progression and regional opportunities, helping to inform discussions on policy, regulatory settings and Queensland’s long-term investment competitiveness. The Full Report is available to QREC Partners.
Queensland Renewables Economic & Social Value Report 2024-25
QREC has released its full 2024–25 Industry Economic and Social Contribution Report, providing the first consistent, evidence-based snapshot of the renewable energy sector’s real impact across Queensland. Developed as a proof-of-concept with data from eight member companies, the report shows the sector contributed around $1 billion to the Queensland economy in 2024–25, supported more than 3,250 jobs, and delivered clear benefits to regional communities, local suppliers and First Nations partnerships. Importantly, it establishes a robust methodology for ongoing annual reporting, creating a credible baseline to track the sector’s growing economic and social contribution over time.

Queensland Renewables Growth & Investment Strategy
Queensland is leading Australia’s clean energy transformation, with over 8GW of committed renewable generation and storage projects worth $10.7 billion and a nationally leading 140GW project pipeline.
The Queensland Renewables Growth and Investment Strategy outlines how to accelerate renewable deployment, attract private capital, and position Queensland as a global energy leader.
Built on three core pillars — refocusing the energy system for long-term reliability and affordability, partnering with regional Queensland for a value-driven transition, and creating a world-class development framework — the Strategy prioritises grid-scale batteries, pumped hydro, streamlined approvals, and faster grid connections.
It places regional communities and First Nations participation at the centre of development, ensuring local benefits, stronger infrastructure, and inclusive growth. Through clear policy, stable regulation, and transparent planning, the Strategy aims to deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy while driving investment and long-term prosperity for Queensland.
